If I go back to my earliest memories of Varshakaki I remember how kool I thought she was. She was the only person I had seen with piercings on the rims of her ears and I loved them. Northolt was the place to go for the infamous biryani and chicken curry especially as our home cooking was predominantly veggie. The aroma of onions frying in butter for that special curry base remains with me today and my kids will tell you that I often mention her curries as I cook to this day. My dearest memories of Varsha kaki are of her nature. She did wonders for my ego and self esteem. From my earliest recollection she always called me Pinaben. I never understood why as she was a good 20 years older than me but I loved it so much . She made me feel grown up and respected aged 5- lol. As the years went on she always made time to ask about life and how I was dealing with it. From studies, to early married life, to being a mum , she would on every occasion tell me that I was doing "good". I'll miss those cheeky, rebellious smiles as she sneaked off to the ladies room and will always miss her on the dance floor at every family wedding Love and prayers Pina
